Master of Surgery in Orthopaedics is a specialization programme in the field of medical science. The course involves the study of diagnosis of the bone and joint related diseases and their treatment through operating procedures like scoliosis, cervical spondylosis and displacement of artificial articulation. The three-year postgraduate programme provides detailed knowledge about cervical spondylosis, bone tumor, spinal cord injury, rheumatoid arthritis, congenital diseases related to bones and joints, complex limb fractures and unhealed fractures and many more.   MS (Orthopedics) can be pursued by any MBBS graduate from a recognized University thereto by Medical Council of India or its equivalent. The candidates are selected on the basis of merit in entrance examination conducted either by an authorized body or the University/institution concerned. After completing MS (Orthopaedics), one can work as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in government or private hospital or can start his/ her own clinic.
